چکیده
Distribution networks transmit electrical energy from an upstream network to customers. Undesirable circumstances such as faults in the distribution can cause hazardous conditions, equipment failure, and power outages. Therefore, avoid financial loss, maintain customer satisfaction, reliability, it is vital restore fast possible. In this paper, a new fault location (FL) algorithm that uses recorded data of smart meters (SMs) feeder (SFMs) locate actual point fault, introduced. The method does not require high-resolution measurements, which among main advantages method. An impedance-based technique utilized detect all possible FL candidates network. After occurrence, protection relay sends signal SFMs, collect active connected lines after fault. higher value represents real faulty section due high-fault current. effectiveness proposed was investigated on IEEE 11-node test MATLAB SIMULINK 2020b, under several situations, different resistances, distances, inception angles, types. some cases, found two or three for FL. these estimation helped identify candidates. Section performs well simulated cases. results showed accurate able precisely section. To experimentally evaluate method’s powerfulness, laboratory its simulation were carried out. distinguish experiment. revealed robustness

Enhancing Observability in Distribution Grids using Smart Meter Data
Due to limited metering infrastructure, distribution grids are currently challenged by observability issues. On the other hand, smart meter data, including local voltage magnitudes and power injections, are communicated to the utility operator from grid buses with renewable generation and demand-response programs. This work employs grid data from metered buses towards inferring the underlying g...
متن کاملIdentification of Fault Type and Location in Distribution Feeder Using Support Vector Machines
This paper presents a support vector machine (SVMs) approach for locating and diagnosing faults in electric power distribution feeders. The proposed approach is based on the measurements available at the substation and remote terminal units (RTUs). To illustrate the proposed methodology, a practical distribution feeder emanating from 132/11KV-grid substation in India with loads is considered. T...

To precisely locate the grounded fault area in distribution network with DG, a new grounded fault area location algorithm based on three-phase impedance model and fault features in distribution network with DG is proposed in this paper. This method establishes three-phase impedance model if the distribution network with DG, analyzes and extracts the fault characteristics on the basis of the thr...

This paper presents a fault location technique for transmission lines with minimum current measurement. This algorithm investigates proper current ratios for fault location problem based on thevenin theory in faulty power networks and calculation of short circuit currents in each branch. These current ratios are extracted regarding lowest sensitivity on thevenin impedance variations of the netw...
